Machine translation is not 100% accurate
LiveTranslate uses automated machine translation to provide real-time language conversion. As a fundamental limitation: machine translation is not 100% accurate and is subject to errors, omissions, and misinterpretations. Accuracy varies by language pair, domain, and speaker conditions (accent, pace, background noise).
This service is NOT a substitute for human interpreters
LiveTranslate must not be used as the sole means of communication in any context where translation errors carry legal or safety consequences. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Legally-binding negotiations: contracts, court proceedings, arbitration, treaty discussions, or any situation where the translated text may be relied upon as a legal record.
- Medical diagnosis or treatment decisions: clinical consultations, informed consent, prescription instructions, surgical guidance, or any communication that affects patient safety or medical outcomes.
- Emergency communication: crisis response, evacuation instructions, or any situation where a mistranslation could endanger lives.
- Any other high-stakes context where a translation error could result in physical harm, financial loss, legal liability, or violation of fundamental rights.
In such contexts, a qualified, certified human interpreter must be present or otherwise available. LiveTranslate may be used as a supplementary aid only.
